Advises immediate management on project-level issues Guides junior engineers Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions Complete Solution Delivery Deliver comprehensive backend API testing and web automation solutions spanning design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations Develop and implement backend API testing frameworks and Playwright-based web automation platforms based on requirements from staff-level engineers Execute backend testing strategies including microservices testing, database testing, and integration testing Implement CI/CD pipeline integration for backend services and web applications Develop comprehensive test plans for backend services, API releases, and web application deployments Design and implement automated testing solutions covering unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing Produce critical product test deliverables including test strategies, API documentation, execution reports, and quality assessments Apply knowledge of backend and web testing best practices in making technical decisions Implement functional testing solutions for financial services backend systems and web applications Execute usability testing programs with focus on web user experience and accessibility Develop web accessibility testing approaches ensuring compliance with WCAG guidelines and financial industry standards Implement internationalization testing strategies for web applications across different locales and markets Apply testing methodologies including contract testing, chaos engineering, and property-based testing Implement testing algorithms for backend service integration and web browser compatibility testing Execute comprehensive testing for backend services and web applications under various load conditions Support backend and web testing initiatives ensuring system integration and cross-browser compatibility Contribute to advanced testing approaches including contract testing and consumer-driven contract testing Execute testing strategies for financial services compliance and regulations Ensure backend services and web applications meet quality, compliance, and performance standards Execute testing efforts for system integration, data integrity, and cross-browser compatibility Support backend and web testing governance and review processes Contribute to testing process improvements based on industry best practices and emerging methodologies Participate in testing center of excellence initiatives for backend and web systems Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Lead backend and web testing projects from conception to delivery with minimal supervision Advise immediate management on project-level backend and web testing issues and solutions Drive technical implementation decisions based on internal conventions and industry best practices Take ownership of backend and web testing project deliverables and timelines Solution Implementation Implement comprehensive backend and web testing solutions including metrics and KPIs for effectiveness measurement Create technical documentation for backend and web testing implementations and project deliverables Execute backend and web testing initiatives within established frameworks and standards Implement shift-left testing principles in backend and web development projects Experience with comprehensive backend testing including database testing, data migration testing, and ETL testing Knowledge of cloud-native testing strategies and serverless architecture testing Familiarity with backend and web testing in financial services or regulated industries Experience with API contract testing and microservices testing patterns Experience with advanced testing methodologies (model-based testing, mutation testing, chaos engineering) Experience with web accessibility testing and compliance Understanding of financial services regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes Experience with payment processing systems, financial data integrity, and backend testing Knowledge of internationalization and localization testing for web applications Familiarity with web analytics, performance monitoring, and observability tools Experience presenting technical solutions and project status to immediate management and stakeholders Experience with agile/scrum methodologies in backend and web development environments
