• Location: Los Angeles, CA 90056 (California healthcare job)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Clinical Laboratory Scientist contract)
• Setting: Hospital Laboratory
• Start Date: October 21, 2025
• End Date: January 4, 2026
• Duration: 12 weeks
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (On-call as needed)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000 - $2050

Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related clinical field
• Current ASCP certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 5 years of laboratory supervisory or lead experience
• Expertise in Blood Bank, Urinalysis (UA), CBC, and ISTAT laboratory procedures
• Strong background in microbiology and general laboratory operations

Clinical Laboratory Scientist Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily hospital laboratory operations and clinical lab personnel
• Provide technical oversight to ensure accurate, high-quality laboratory testing for patient care
• Perform and oversee analysis in microbiology and other clinical laboratory sections
• Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulatory and safety standards
• Serve as the primary resource for laboratory staff, providing guidance and clinical support
• Participate in administrative and management duties related to laboratory operations
• Ensure precise documentation and timely reporting of laboratory results
