Interim FP&A Adaptive Consultant

Our client, a high-growth software company, is seeking an Interim FP&A Systems Consultant to support several strategic planning and forecasting initiatives.

This role is hybrid, with in-office expectations 1-3 days/week in San Mateo, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for financial planning systems and forecasting solutions.
• Lead requirements gathering sessions with Finance and business stakeholders to understand planning and reporting needs.
• Design, build, and enhance forecasting models, reporting structures, and planning tools.
• Evaluate and improve data flows between planning platforms, ERP systems, and other business applications.
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, IT, and operational teams to develop scalable solutions that support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Lead testing, validation, troubleshooting, and deployment activities for system enhancements and new functionality.
• Document system configurations, business processes, and implementation methodologies.
• Provide recommendations for improving planning processes, system architecture, and forecasting capabilities.

Requirements:

• Significant hands-on experience with enterprise planning and forecasting platforms, including advanced modeling and system architecture expertise.
• Proven ability to design and implement planning models from requirements gathering through deployment.
• Strong understanding of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and driver-based planning methodologies.
• Experience working with ERP systems and integrations between financial applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
