Staff Accountant
- Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 + bonus + benefits
- Manage daily accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX compliance, and financial reporting.
- Review monthly financial packages from third-party property management companies to ensure accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting analyses.
- Maintain debt accounting, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Analyze financial results and budget-to-actual variances for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate transaction recording.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
- Resolve accounting issues, maintain standard operating procedures, and assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, including consolidations; real estate accounting experience preferred.
- CPA preferred; Big 4 experience is a plus.
- Experience with real estate or investment accounting and systems such as Yardi and FAS preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, improve processes, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while exercising sound judgment.
