Principal Software Engineer, Ads Experience

With Roblox’s daily active users growing at a record pace (now over 150+ million), we are seeking a Principal Engineer to join the our Ads Experience team to help build the next generation of immersive Ads on the platform. Our team sits at the core of advertising product engineering at Roblox, serving billions of ads to millions of daily users, while providing advertisers and creators the tools to run successful ad campaigns.

This team is architecting the Ads engine that will power the next era of the Roblox economy. You won't just be building an ad system; you'll be defining a first-of-its-kind product that seamlessly connects brands and creators on Roblox's immersive platform. This is a foundational role where your technical vision will directly shape a multi-billion dollar business vertical, delivering real value to our developer community and opening up exciting opportunities for global brands.

You Will


• Collaborate with teams across the company to translate ambitious business goals into a concrete, multi-year technical roadmap for ad monetization, ensuring alignment with community values and user experience.


• Build the services and tools responsible for managing complex ad campaigns


• Be a technical leader for the team and mentor junior engineers



• Help recruit future talent for the team



You Have


• 8+ years of experience developing a wide-array of software products



• Demonstrable skill with frontend and backend technologies such as: React, Typescript, Javascript, Go, Java, C#



• Experience with REST, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices



• Preferably worked in the Ad space and worked on Ad Management systems



• A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science or related engineering field
