Pet Care Lead Full Time - Experience Required

North Main Pet Lodge is a quality Boarding and Daycare facility in Walnut Creek seeking a hard-working, self-motivated, experienced and passionate dog and cat lover to join our team full time.

Responsibilities

Holidays and weekends may be required. Morning shift begins at 7am.

This position is responsible for the day to day care of our guests and the monitoring of their overall health. Daily tasks will include feeding, medicating, assigning and coordinating tasks with other team members, cleaning enclosures, providing walks, and group play time.

We are seeking a reliable individual that has a positive attitude, good work ethic in combination with an attention to detail and cleanliness and the ability to lead.

You must have a passion for working with dogs and cats and be able to lead your care team

Qualifications

Experience is required in a similar professional pet care environment, Daycare, Boarding Kennel, shelter, experience with dogs in a group play setting.

Professional experience training dogs is a plus.

Requirements for Candidates:

• Able to work holidays and weekends (Please do not apply if you are unable to work on holidays and weekends).
• A passion for working with animals. 1 to 2 years experience in a professional pet care setting… Boarding/Kennel, Daycare, Rescue organization shelter or training facility .
• Strong work ethic, leadership skills, patient, honest, responsible, punctual and very dependable.
• Value for cleanliness, organization and have great attention to detail.
• Value excellent customer service.
• You are comfortable working with all types and sizes of dogs and with cats.
• Able to be on your feet most of your shift walking, lifting, bending, standing and crouching.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.
• Able to work outside in hot, cold and rainy weather.
• Comfortable taking directions, working independently, and directing others.

Core duties and responsibilities, additional duties may be assigned.

• The position is responsible for the corrdination of daily tasks, the day to day care of our guests, and the monitoring of their overall health.
• Daily tasks will include feeding, medicating, cleaning enclosures, providing walks, and play time. You will be responsible for coordinating daily tasks with other team members to ensure all tasks are completed by the end of your shift.
• Maintain clean dog and cat enclosures (waste removal, hosing, scrubbing, vacuuming, sweeping, moping, sterilizing).
• Power washing, Laundry, Dishes
• Walking dogs (may require walking 3 large dogs at once) and providing personal play time for dogs and cats.
• Any additional tasks needed to help the facility run smoothly and stay neat and organized.
