Pre/Post Op Cardiology/Cardiac Nurse Practitioner - Full-Time - Cedars-Sinai Pacific Heart - Santa Monica
- Working closely with all 20 physicians in the group, our Nurse practitioner will assist in managing high acuity post-op patients with the best care possible.
- Cardiovascular issues include but not limited to acute coronary syndrome, chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, peripheral artery disease, aortic aneurysm, and venous thromboembolism/pulmonary embolism in our outpatient setting with collaborating physician.
- Will assist with medication adjustments depending on patient's clinical status.
- Post operative cardiac evaluation.
- Order diagnostic studies, tests, labs and review pertinent labs/studies (nuclear imaging testing, EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, etc.).
- Review telemetry readings.
- Educate patients on diagnosis, medications, dietary restrictions related to cardiovascular disease.
- Communicate with other specialties regarding patient care.
- Will also perform and supervise stress echoes in the office.
- This is a 5/8's role and will comprise of 100% out-patient care.
- The general working hours for this position will be between: 8am to 5pm.
- There are no operating room or in-patient duties with this role.
- There are no weekends with this position.
*** Prior or current experience working in a high acuity setting is REQUIRED*** Qualifications Educational Requirements:
- Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing.
- MSN Degree Required
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of California.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate or eligible to obtain.
- Furnishing number issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioner
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Minimum one year Nurse Practitioner experience is required.
- Minimum two (2) years? experience as an Advance Practice Nurse strongly preferred.
