Lead Software QA Engineer
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer Lead to join our team. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and cases to ensure the quality of our projects and products. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of software testing, test planning, and regression testing, as well as experience in integration testing and familiarity with various test automation tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead the QA team in developing and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure the quality of our software products
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and cases for software products
- Collaborate with software developers and stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure QA coverage
- Perform end-to-end testing for security, scalability, and reliability
- Create and maintain test documentation
- Actively participate in manual and automated testing, including test script development, execution, and analysis
- Monitor, track, and report on QA activities, including test progress, test results, and defect tracking
- Investigate and analyze defects, identifying root causes and recommending solutions to prevent recurrence
- Guide and mentor the QA team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in software quality assurance, continuously improving QA processes and methodologies
- Participate in code reviews, providing insights on quality and testability
- Manage the QA team workload and priorities, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks
- Foster a culture of quality throughout the development process and across the organization
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on manual and automated testing
- At least 5 years of relevant, professional level work experience
- Proven experience leading and mentoring QA teams
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and ASP.NET Core
- Proficiency with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, NUnit, or similar
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with advanced SQL concepts and writing SQL statements
- Create and maintain test documentation
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels within the organization
- Strong communication and time management skills and a self-motivated approach
- Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, and execution focused.

We may use the categories of Personal Information for the following business or commercial purposes:

If Symmetry uses Personal Information of an applicant, employee, or contractor for a purpose materially different than those disclosed in this notice, Symmetry will notify the employee and obtain explicit consent from the employee to use the Personal Information for this new purpose.
