Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Temporary HR Compliance Assistant to support our Human Resources team with a critical I-9 audit and employee file review project. This role will focus on ensuring all active employee records are compliant with federal employment eligibility requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with Form I-9s, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with accuracy and discretion.
This is a temporary assignment expected to last 1–2 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
I-9 Audit & Compliance Support
Review employee personnel files to ensure all active employees have a properly completed and compliant Form I-9
Identify missing, incomplete, or incorrect documentation and coordinate corrections as needed
Assist with E-Verify submissions and ensure proper documentation is maintained
Ensure compliance with federal I-9 and employment eligibility verification requirements
File Management & Documentation
Scan paper I-9 forms and related documentation into digital personnel files
Organize and maintain electronic and physical employee records
Ensure all files are complete, accurate, and properly stored
HR Administrative Support
Assist with general HR administrative tasks related to compliance and employee records
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
Support the HR team with additional audit-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of Human Resources or HR administrative experience
Hands-on experience reviewing and completing Form I-9 documentation required
Experience with E-Verify strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
Excellent organizational and file management skills
Strong computer skills, including scanning, digital file management, and working within HR systems
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Assignment Details
Temporary assignment: 1–2 months, with potential for extension
Project-based role focused on HR compliance and file audit support
Immediate need for assistance
