Hiring: Junior Sous Chef
Location: Beverly Hills, CA
Pay: $27.00/hour

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to support our kitchen leadership team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, thrives under pressure, and is ready to grow into a leadership position.

You’ll play a key role in daily kitchen operations, food preparation, team supervision, and maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

Kitchen Operations

• Prepare and execute menu items including meats, seafood, sauces, and soups
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
• Assist with prep lists, pars, and station setup

Team Leadership

• Supervise and support kitchen staff during daily operations
• Train and coach team members on performance, safety, and knife skills
• Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of senior leadership

Food Safety & Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Complete logs, line checks, and daily audits

Inventory & Cost Control

• Assist with food ordering and weekly inventory
• Track food waste and support cost control efforts
• Help manage labor based on business needs

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or Culinary degree
• Strong culinary skills and advanced knife skills
• Leadership mindset with the ability to train and motivate a team
• Excellent organization, communication, and time management
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• Food Protection Manager Certification (required)
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with scheduling, inventory, and food cost systems (e.g., HotSchedules)
• Understanding of food and labor cost controls
