Job Title: Manufactured Home Loan Processor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Remote, Hybrid or in-office (Foothill Ranch, CA)

Salary Range $23.00 - 27.00 an hour

Summary: Responsible for the accurate documentation and closing of manufactured home loans. Provides excellent service to members, dealers, brokers, real estate agents, and escrow companies. Demonstrates outstanding service delivery and helps resolve lending issues. Performs duties related to indirect and direct lending, including verifying income, ordering reports, generating loan documents, and obtaining pertinent documentation for loan files.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • While executing these duties, must fully comply with the rules and regulations governing the credit extension process as promulgated by the various State and Federal agencies, including but not limited to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), or Reg. B, the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) or Reg. Z, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act: Privacy of Consumer Financial Information, as well as guidance as provided by and under the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the provisions of the USA Patriot Act.
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and efficient service to dealers, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, escrow companies, as well as existing and prospective members.
  • Performs accurate data entry and funding of loan applications into Eagle Community Credit Union's (ECCU) Loan Origination System(s).
  • Maintains neat, thorough, legible, and accurate loan documentation and notes.
  • Order, comprehend, and approve for accuracy, including but not limited to appraisals, flood certificates, insurance, park approval, title searches, Department of Housing titling documents, purchase agreements, closing statements, and escrow instructions.
  • Prior to funding, audits and performs necessary verification of approved loan documentation through a variety of sources, including credit bureaus, employment verification, and park approval on all loans.
  • The ability to understand and explain the life of a manufactured home loan to members.
  • Will be responsible for minimizing and reducing the potential risk of fraud on each funded loan application by auditing and verifying the membership and loan documentation information.
  • Responsible for communicating with all parties to acquire necessary documentation for timely completion of the funding process via phone, fax, email, or written communication.
  • Must be proficient with all ECCU's loan and deposit-related products and services and demonstrate a willingness and ability to cross-sell additional services.
  • Must be proficient with all ECCU's loan-related insurance products, including debt protection, homeowners' insurance, and flood insurance, while demonstrating a willingness and ability to cross-sell additional products as part of the loan process.
  • Must have a general understanding of income analysis such that an applicant's income can be accurately determined as part of the loan review process.
  • Responsible for advising management of adverse trends occurring with escrow companies, real estate agents, dealers, and brokers, including but not limited to issues with funding activity.
  • Completion of all ECCU compliance training as specified for your position.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stays informed of credit union products, services, procedures, and new developments.
  • Assists Loan Manager or Supervisor with administrative tasks.
  • Contributes to credit union growth and profitability goals.
  • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional organizations.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 1 to 3 -years of financial institution experience as a loan processor or similar position.
  • Experience with the use of an automated loan system is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Knowledge of Symitar and ECCU's Loan Origination Systems (arcOS) is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret policy manuals, regulations, and correspondence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish or Vietnamese are a plus.
  • Basic math skills and understanding of loan amortizations.
  • Problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Certificates and Licenses: No certifications are needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
