Senior QA Automation Engineer
At Arbital Health, we are transforming the US healthcare system by accelerating the shift from fee-for-service agreements to value-based care agreements. We do this by building a neutral, third-party platform that allows our customers to design, measure, and adjudicate value-based care agreements that maximize resources and help patients get the care they need to thrive. We are looking for highly talented and highly motivated individuals. You will be a roll-up-your-sleeves builder eager to innovate and collaborate to change healthcare.
Across all roles, we look for people who embody our values of impact, innovation, collaboration, velocity, and transparency.
We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead and elevate our quality assurance efforts across our SaaS platform. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, coding, and implementing scalable test plans, managing test execution, and driving the automation strategy. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure our releases meet the highest standards, especially critical given our work with regulated data such as healthcare and medical claims data.

- You have the experience and intuition to see around corners, identify quality risks, and implement preemptive solutions through automation.
- You have built a scalable, reliable QA automation framework integrated into the development pipeline for a SaaS platform.
- You communicate effectively with developers and stakeholders, even in the face of shifting priorities.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test plans and QA strategy for our growing healthcare data-centric SaaS Platform
- Write, maintain, and scale automated test code for the full stack, APIs, and data validation using modern testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with product managers, actuaries, and other engineers to design and implement automated data pipeline tests to validate new features and detect regressions in existing features.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to design and implement automated UI tests to validate new features and detect regressions in existing features. Understand how to leverage user stories and acceptance criteria written in Gherkin to create test cases for new product feature and implementations.
- Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to design and implement automated API tests for backend services to validate new features and detect regressions in existing features.
- Own the QA automation lifecycle and continuously enhance the automation infrastructure.
- Select and implement automated testing frameworks and tools that are the best fit for Arbital’s platform and team.
- Manage and monitor both automated and manual test execution to support continuous delivery.
- Ensure compliance and robustness when handling regulated data such as healthcare or financial information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, drive defect resolution, and continuously improve the testing pipeline.
- Create detailed and easy to understand bug reports.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership within the QA team, especially in a dynamic startup environment.
What you bring:
- 8+ years of experience in QA Automation, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong programming skills and hands-on experience writing automation code (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar).
- Proven experience using automation frameworks for data testing, such as Great Expectations, or similar.
- Proven experience using automation frameworks for UI testing, such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Experience with healthcare data (e.g., HIPAA, PHI) or other regulated environments.
- Experience leading QA Automation initiatives for a SaaS platform.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile development methodologies.
