Plant Senior Operator
Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of an Operations Supervisor, the Senior HEP Operator s tarts, synchronizes, regulates, stops and secures generators and pumping units; controls aqueduct flow by remotely controlled checks and turnouts; monitors or operates a digital process controller for actual control and/or optimization of plant and aqueduct output and flow; opens and closes circuit breakers, disconnects and grounds switches, and tests for feedback; prepares and issues clearances and executes clearances; makes decisions regarding safe working conditions and enforces compliance with safety regulations; insures that schedules of water releases, pumping and generation are carried out; maintains a station log; records and reports on operations; calculates power and water flows as necessary to complete assigned schedules; implements general policy and procedural directives from the Operations Supervisor or Superintendent.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
We are seeking candidates with the following: Must have strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. Computer skills are a must with Microsoft word and excel, experience in SAP a plus. The incumbent must be dependable, exercise good judgement and excellent safety practices. Must have a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to interact professionally and cooperatively with all levels of staff. Must have hydroelectric plant experience and have the ability to lead crews. Experience with clearances in steam plants, sub-stations, or switching yards. Experience and knowledge of lockout, tagout process/procedures.
The field divisions are 100% office-centric, candidate must be willing to work in person, as this position is not eligible for telework.
