We’re looking for an experienced Senior Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Architecture and Shared Services team. This role is onsite and based in our San Jose, CA office five days a week. Reporting to the Senior Director of Cloud Operations (Cloud Platform and Architecture), you will be responsible for:

• Leading the planning and execution phases for a large-scale conversion project


• Identifying improvements for cloud hyperscaler usability


• Managing and overseeing cloud hyperscaler integration for scalability and reliability


• Supporting and expanding Zscaler virtualization infrastructure by implementing new processes to meet organizational needs

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles with a strong background in designing, deploying and maintaining physical and cloud infrastructure.
  Strong understanding of networking and security in virtualization architectures.


• Deep expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure); multi-cloud experience is a plus.


• Experience managing linux systems, across bare metal, virtualized, and containerized deployments.


• Proven ability to lead large-scale infrastructure migration or modernization projects and experience in designing and supporting large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
  Strong proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.), virtualization, containerization, and orchestration platforms.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, make high-impact technical decisions, and drive initiatives with minimal oversight.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• OpenStack experience


• Experience with cloud cost management tools and FinOps practices.


• Background in zero-downtime deployments, incident management, and SRE practices.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$154,000 - $220,000 USD
