Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (28204) – North Carolina nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (Delivery Room)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available; OT after 48 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Average Daily Census: 20 births, 30-40 admits, 40 visits/day
• Scrubs: Provided (blue)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1700-$1750

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (3 years preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or compact state (must be in hand by start date)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Experience circulating for C-sections and working in high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery units strongly preferred
• Ability to float to Special Maternity Care/high-risk OB units as needed
• First-time travel nurses accepted with relevant experience in large, high-volume healthcare settings

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients (16 weeks gestation and greater, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum care)
• Perform triage, labor support, delivery, and immediate newborn care
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births; assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and manage high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and follow SBAR communication protocols
• Float to high-risk maternity units as required based on census and skill set
• Participate in a 24-hour unit orientation and complete all required modules prior to start
