Strings and Orchestra Teacher for Fall 2026
Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a Strings (grades 4 and 5) and Orchestra (Grades 6-7-8) teacher for the 2026/27 school year beginning in September 2026
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (including but not limited to):
- Develop a syllabus with goals and objective of their year's work, working with developmental needs of each grade level
- Teach fundamentals of music theory
- Write Year-End Reports for each student
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and leading strings and orchestra groups; Waldorf teaching experience and/or training preferred, though not mandatory.
- Able to speak and understand and communicate in English.
- A high degree of self-motivation with the ability to work independently, while working effectively in a team environment.
- Capacity to meet the school’s expectations and guidelines regarding direct communication by respecting and following the school’s Pathways of Communication process.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills
HOURS: Hours of employment shall be part-time with an average of 6 hours per week for 34 weeks. The days of work are primarily Monday through Friday from 10:45 am - 2:50 pm , with occasional weekends and evenings.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The compensation for this position shall be an hourly rate of $30 - $42 per hour, dependent on experience, and following the Subject teacher pay scale.
