Information Technology Procurement Analyst
Job Description and Duties
Anticipated Interview Dates: We anticipate holding in-person interviews beginning the week of October 6, 2025.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week. Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). The Information Technology Services Branch in CalPERS is currently seeking a Information Technology Associate to fill the role of an IT procurement analyst. This position supports ITSB’s procurement for IT services, hardware and software needs, related to technical support of software, and maintenance of IT equipment and services. Tasks include, but are not limited to, development of procurement documents, processing procurement requests, tracking procurement status, and associated management reporting. Working Conditions
- This position is designated as office-centered and works primarily onsite at the Sacramento, CA -Headquarters at least three weekdays.
- Workstation is located in a standard multi-level office building accessible by stairs and elevator, with artificial light, height-adjustable desk, and adjustable office chair.
- Prolonged reading and typing on a laptop or keyboard and monitor.

- Proficiency in IT contract and procurement and budget principles.
- Knowledge of IT services and functions (i.e. business analysis; application development).
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, and apply time management skills to manage a large diverse workload within tight time constraints .
- Have strong analytical skills, and ability to make sound decision and provide solutions.
- Ability to follow detailed directions, multi-task, and perform completed staff work.
- Ability to write comprehensively and effectively, demonstrating ability to communicate with all levels of management, peers, and external customers.
