Student Assistant
Job Description and Duties
Under close supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II), the Student Assistant will assist the Regional Support Section (RSS) with day-to-day personal computer (PC) support for the Department of Justice (DOJ) staff at various DOJ offices and labs statewide. These offices and labs include the Attorney General, Bureau of Forensic Services laboratories, California Justice Information Services Division, and Division of Law Enforcement headquarters, regional, and task force offices.
The Student Assistant will also work with RSS & Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to respond to client requests for assistance with PC and/or software problems, answer information technology (IT) questions, perform PC and software installations and setup; and assist other Hawkins Data Center services units with installations and support of network servers and/or communications equipment.

You must be currently enrolled in at least six (6) semester units of the equivalent of college courses, with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of various computer software programs preferred.
- Should be dependable and attentive to detail, and demonstrate good attendance, attitude and work habits.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
