Harris is looking for a Project/Construction Manager to join our dynamic Program & Construction Management team in the Monterey County area.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, interacting daily with clients, stakeholders, designers, contractors, inspectors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Represent the Owner’s interests throughout the project lifecycle, taking ownership of project success in collaboration with the project team.
  • Facilitate the timely and equitable resolution of project issues in accordance with contract documents and client goals.
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with both stakeholders and Harris staff to ensure adequate information is shared transparently.
  • Lead, manage, and facilitate Owner–Architect–Contractor (OAC) meetings, ensuring clear communication, issue resolution, and alignment on project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, permits, budget, and schedule.
  • Observe, monitor, and document contractor performance in accordance with contractual obligations, including but not limited to:
    • Managing project correspondence, including documentation of verbal directives, written communications, designer memoranda, field directives, and clarification letters.
    • Reviewing submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) on behalf of the client, with consultation on potential quality, schedule, or cost impacts.
    • Reviewing change orders for contractual merit, scope alignment, and cost reasonableness.
    • Monitoring Time & Materials (T&M) work, when applicable.
    • Reviewing contractor progress payment applications against verified field progress.
    • Developing, distributing, and maintaining timely meeting agendas and accurate meeting minutes.
    • Preparing and distributing project reports in accordance with Harris’ scope of work.
    • Always promoting and leading a culture of safety.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive construction management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience managing vertical construction projects required; civil project experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply construction management expertise across diverse project types and market sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and processes.
  • Experience supporting project proposals and participating in client interviews is desired.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to foster collaborative problem-solving.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and completeness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, and Bluebeam software. Procore a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $135,000–$160,000 annually, with final compensation determined by experience and qualifications.
