About the Opportunity

Driscoll’s is the world’s leading supplier of fresh berries. As a member of the Driscoll’s of the Americas Accounting team, the Accountant supports the success of the company’s largest business unit. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles and involves complex tasks such as interpreting financial data, analyzing reports, and recommending actions based on key business drivers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates effectively, collaborates well across functions, and thrives in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepares month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications, as well as ad hoc entries to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Prepares monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations by analyzing account activity, researching discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy and completeness in general ledger and sub ledger balances.

Reviews monthly Budget vs. Actual (BvA), researches discrepancies, corrects issues, and provides variance analysis to support financial performance monitoring and business decision-making.

Reviews and reports weekly revenue, accounts receivable, and cash receipts, identifying trends, flagging anomalies, and ensuring timely and accurate cash flow reporting.

Performs daily and monthly accounting transactions related to revenue recognition, accounts receivable processing, and cash application, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal policies.

Assists in developing and implementing accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.

Assist with monthly intercompany sales and reconciliations, including reviewing intercompany transactions, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and preparing related journal entries and reports.

Assist with the review, assessment and documentation of internal controls for Driscoll’s processes and procedures

Responsible for preparing supporting audit schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of audit requests.

Candidate Profile

• Able to work on site 4 days a week, one day remote.
• No relocation provided.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting role.
• Knowledge of U.S. General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), best practices, basic accounting terminology and concepts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office.
• Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics AX, OR Other ERPs – Intermediate.

Preferred:

• Public Accountant, Big Four experience – Preferred but not required.
• CPA license, preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted.  The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.

Salary Range estimated for the Accountant: $70,000 to $90,000 USD.
