Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU | West Hollywood, CA | Nights

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical recovery unit in West Hollywood, CA. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse case mix and advanced patient care environment.

Position Details

• Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU
• Location: West Hollywood, CA 90048
• Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (8:00 PM – 8:30 AM)
• Schedule: 36 hours/week
• Employment Type: Contract

Position Overview

The PACU RN is responsible for delivering specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures. This role requires strong critical thinking, advanced clinical skills, and the ability to work across multiple recovery areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients during post-anesthesia recovery
• Manage airway, hemodynamics, pain, and sedation levels
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and conscious sedation
• Recognize and respond to post-operative complications
• Perform IV starts and advanced monitoring including pulmonary artery lines and ventilated patients
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Float across PACU/pre-op areas as required

Requirements

• Active California RN License (must be active at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Experience with conscious sedation, IV starts, tele monitoring, and vents
• Strong ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• First-time travelers welcome

Unit Highlights

• High-volume unit with 120–140 cases per day
• Over 100+ Pre-op/PACU bays
• Exposure to a wide variety of cases including:
  • General, Trauma, Thoracic, and Cardiac
  • Neuro, Spine, and Vascular
  • Bariatric, Colorectal, and Urology
  • Orthopedics, Plastics, and Hand/Foot procedures
  • Organ transplants (Liver/Kidney), IR, Endoscopy, and more

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• Floating: Yes, across all recovery areas
• On-Call: Not required
• Scheduling: No special scheduling requests accommodated
