Senior Product Manager, Websites

Block
San Francisco, CA

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

The Role

As the Staff Product Manager for Websites at Square, you will reimagine how sellers create and manage their online presence using AI to build the future of websites. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop Square's next-generation website platform, ensuring sellers can effortlessly get online with beautiful, high-converting sites that seamlessly integrate with their brick-and-mortar operations. You'll continuously evolve how sellers tell their story online, attract buyers, conduct commerce and grow their business through their owned digital presence. This is an opportunity to build software that strengthens relationships between sellers and their customers, all with the newest AI technology.

You Will

  • Own Square's website’s next-gen platform strategy and implementation

  • Set strategy and continuously iterate to improve Square's website product offering spanning AI-powered site generation, customization tools, and commerce integration

  • Collaborate with motivated product engineers, designers, data scientists to build exceptional experiences

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate websites seamlessly with Square's ecosystem of brick-and-morter and digital commerce

  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies for website products, ensuring successful adoption across seller segments

  • Champion product thinking across your team, advocate for sellers, and build a roadmap focused on solving problems, unlocking new behaviors, and reimagining how sellers get online and manage their digital presence

  • Do whatever it takes to move drive teams forward: seek executive alignment, jump into Figma, go down to ground level on data models with engineering

  • Ship products and communicate results widely, serving as the voice for your team's work

You Have

  • Had many trips to the plate as a PM, shipping, learning, building, failing. You’ve seen the highs and low, and know what great looks like

  • Deep discontent for poor user experience — from the code to the last pixel a user interacts with. You set the bar for quality and push your teams to aim higher

  • A genuine desire to be coached, to learn, and improve in your craft

  • A good sense of humor about the work. You have high EQ, can work with people of all stripes and points of view, to craft healthy, high-velocity, mission-oriented team

  • Experience with AI products or demonstrated strong interest and hands-on experience with AI tools

  • 8+ years of product management experience with a track record of shipping successful products

  • Proven ability to prioritize and work efficiently in fast-paced environments with rapid iteration
