Job Description and Duties

CalPERS PeopleSoft & MyCalPERS Support Unit is seeking a self-motivated Associate Accounting Analyst (Accounting Systems) with accounting and analysis skills. Under the supervision of the Financial Accountant II, the Associate Accounting Analyst (Accounting Systems) acts as a liaison between the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services and Information Technology Services branch for business and accounting processes in the PeopleSoft Financials and myCalPERS systems. The incumbent performs analysis on various Business Rules Specifications and Requirement documents and performs User Acceptance Testing of financial transactions to ensure successful implementation of new or modified system functionality. • Knowledge of principles and practices, including the ability to analyze and evaluate financial and accounting records
• Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), governmental budgetary principles, practices, principles, and procedures of public finance and reporting requirements
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to conduct risk assessment and internal controls.
