FT/PT WAREHOUSE PERSON

: Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Person is to receive, store and distribute inventory within the store to various departments and to customers. Duties: Read customer receipts and loading tickets to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed Conveys items from receiving area to storage or other designated areas Sorts and places items or materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product SKU Fill requisitions for stock items and distributes items to appropriate departments and/or areas Assembles customer orders from stock, or assembles items to be displayed Opens bales, crates and other containers Operates cardboard baler Uses computer for stock information Operates forklift, pallet jack and use of flatbed carts to transport stored items from warehouse to store or to pick up from store to warehouse. Ability to use power tools, panel saw, and pipe thread machine. Pump propane to fill customer's tanks Other miscellaneous duties as assigned Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. High school degree, some college preferred Experience in a retail environment preferred Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently Ability to load and unload trucks in a safe manner Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business Must have good driving record Physical Requirements: Move and handle boxes of merchandise, various furniture and other items, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth Must be able to operate heavy machinery Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 80 pounds.
