About Us:
Yutori is a welcoming, authentic Japanese restaurant offering high-quality cuisine and exceptional customer service. We will be open for brunch and dinner service. We are looking for friendly, motivated food runners / backwaiters who are passionate about hospitality and interested in Japanese food and culture. We are expected to open mid May 2026!
Position Overview:
The Food Runner / Backwaiter plays a vital support role in delivering a smooth and efficient dining experience. This position works closely with the front-of-house team to ensure food is delivered promptly, tables are properly maintained, and guests receive attentive, high-quality service. The ideal candidate is fast-paced, detail-oriented, and team-driven, with a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to hospitality.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver food from the kitchen to tables quickly and accurately
- Assist servers with table maintenance (clearing, resetting, refilling water, etc.)
- Ensure all dishes are presented properly before leaving the kitchen
- Communicate effectively with servers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas
- Stock service stations and assist with opening/closing duties
- Anticipate guest needs and support the service team as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Positive attitude and attention to detail
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
- Previous restaurant experience preferred, but not required
