Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Payroll/ Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, your aim is to ensure employees are compensated accurately and promptly. Your responsibilities will include processing timesheets, updating records, overseeing payroll payments, and answering payroll-related questions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and familiar with payroll processes and related legislation. Responsibilities - Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Develops a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Process payroll-related documents
- Review payroll information for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate with the human resources team regarding any changes or updates in employee information
- Monitor the electronic payment system and paycheck distribution
- Maintain up-to-date salary information
- Process annual bonuses, severance pay, and other compensations or deductions
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Previous experience as a Payroll Coordinator is preferred
- Understanding of the payroll process and related legislation and regulations
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software
- Highly organized with an eye for detail
