Apple is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help develop the next generation of cloud services infrastructure. You will be working on key components of the Apple cloud platform and introducing new fundamental capabilities. Your work will help to power entirely new applications and scale existing ones, such as FaceTime, PushNotifications, iCloud Drive, Photos, and Backup. Key Qualifications - 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong programming skills in Objective-C, C, Swift, or C++
- Experience with security, privacy, and cryptography concepts
- Proven track record of working on rapid development cycles and shipping software on tight schedules
- Passionate about building system-level frameworks and APIs
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Description We work on the client-side of iCloud services, building the foundations for a secure and private cloud from device to device encrypted storage in the cloud to protected computation. Apple's commitment to privacy runs deep and this team is key to extending this commitment to the cloud. This position will involve close collaboration with the CloudKit team, several teams working on server components as well as Apple's cryptography and privacy teams. This job entails both low level (C/Objective C, libdispatch, POSIX APIs) and system-level skills (synchronization protocols, framework design, IPCs, multi-process performance work, system-wide resource sharing.) Reliability is essential, and we're looking for engineers with a real passion for building complex systems that will seamlessly recover in the event of errors. As part of this role, you will: Work with adopters to craft clear APIs Work with the network and file system stacks to build performant daemons Work with our server counterparts to design scalable features and protocols Implement core components of the cryptographic protection of cloud data Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience. Additional Requirements - Experience in the below is a plus:
- Experience building on Apple Platforms (macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, etc.)
- Experience designing and building developer-facing APIs is a plus
- Experience with Event-based programming or inter-process communication is a plus
Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,700.00 and $284,900.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
