SENIOR MANAGEMENT AUDITIOR / AUDITS OFFICE / SACRAMENTO HEADQUARTERS
The reporting location for this position is 715 P Street in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general direction of the Supervising Management Auditor. The Grant Audit Manager leads the Grant Audit Unit and oversees a team responsible for conducting in-depth management audits. This role ensures that administrative and operational controls, as well as contracts, comply with accepted internal control standards and safeguard Department resources. The Grant Audit Manager serves as the lead and subject matter expert on complex and sensitive audits, independently conducting audits of significant scope and risk to assess internal controls and improve compliance and efficiency. The position also keeps executive management informed of audit progress, implements policies and procedures, and monitors performance against the annual audit plan. This role provides technical guidance to audit staff by reviewing working papers, reports, and preliminary results to ensure audit objectives and professional standards are met. Responsibilities include advising on auditing standards, managing highly complex or confidential audits, and preparing or reviewing reports and memorandums to ensure clarity, completeness, and supporting evidence. The incumbent also serves as a subject matter expert for audit management software, providing technical assistance and training. In addition, the Grant Audit Manager performs supervisory and administrative functions, including monitoring staff performance, identifying training needs, administering leave and attendance, approving travel, and participating in recruitment and selection activities. Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Working Conditions
The work environment includes prolonged periods of standing, bending, and sitting, with regular overnight travel required. Duties are performed in a high-rise building within an open office environment. The position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard and read from computer screens for extended periods throughout the da y.

- Describe your ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to present information and audit issues before various audiences
