The Writers Guild is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Residuals Coordinator (Coordinator II) . This is a full-time, non-exempt position with full benefits. This is a hybrid position with 3 in office days and 2 remote days.

Under the general supervision of the Residuals Administrator, the Residuals Coordinator acts as an analyst and is responsible for policing and analyzing Guild-covered projects to determine residuals compliance and assisting the Residuals Administrator with Tri Guild-related audits and reports. The Residuals Department ensures that writers are paid residuals due under the residual provisions of the Basic Agreements from 1953 to 2014.

This position requires analytical skills and attention to detail, combined with the ability to perform frequent heavy data review.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Review and analyze various reports and documents to determine residuals compliance.
  2. Identify and research unpaid or underpaid residuals.
  3. Work closely with the Residuals Administrator to compile lists of titles to be audited.
  4. Assist the Residuals Administrator in meeting monthly audit targets.
  5. Frequent heavy data analysis, spreadsheet manipulation and reporting. Use of pivot tables and Excel functions is required.
  6. Maintain new media tracking sheet for purposes of identifying when made-for-new media residuals are due.
  7. Provide information needed for completion of Tri Guild audits. This includes running residual history reports and working with the Signatories Department to gather Financial Assurances data.
  8. Complete spreadsheets for Tri Guild audit and bankruptcy related settlements and work with Finance to process settlement payments.
  9. Answers questions from members, companies, agents, business representatives, etc., regarding general and specific residuals obligations under the MBA, including investigating issues as necessary.
  10. Interact with writers and company representatives during course of investigation.
  11. Other duties as required.
  12. Overtime may be required.

OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A college degree or equivalent experience. Must be computer literate, have excellent knowledge of Word and Excel. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to work under pressure to meet firm deadlines. Must be a quick thinker with a sharp learning curve and must be a self-starter, well organized, and detail oriented.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This person should be able to occasionally lift and carry 10-20 pound boxes, bend, stoop, reach, sit, twist, move arms, wrists and fingers.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to comprehend and interpret complex bargaining agreements; perform activities on schedule; work well under time constraints, maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Must have the ability to multi-task.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Does not require working near hazardous equipment or machines. Minimal or no exposure to noise, dust, gas, odors, fumes.

Salary:
The salary range for this position is $53,000 – $65,000 annual.
