Job Description
Pay Range: $70,000 to $86,400 per year
The Sr. Accountant supports the Corporate Accounting department in the areas of developing, maintaining, and leveraging the company’s planning, forecasting, reporting, and financial data integrity. This role will support systems implementations for ERP, Planning, and Reporting. including master data structure and maintenance, transactional data flows, technical development and support, and special projects as needed to support Corporate Accounting and business requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Financial systems maintenance and support: financial checks and balances to ensure general ledger accuracy in preparation of period close and reporting, backup for SAP and Cognos critical system tasks run by Financial Systems Manager
- Audit SAP to identify and troubleshoot rouge system entries, drive solutions and corrections to system
- Financial statement reporting of Income, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
- Close activities including journal entries and analytics, weekly system SVM system checks and BW audits against G/L
- Support, control, and maintain continuous Corporate Accounting financial reporting data integrity
- Produce and maintain consolidated weekly, periodic, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Assist Accounting/Finance users in identifying and correcting financial system issues within SAP FI, COPA, & BW systems
- Assist in new hire training for SAP FI, COPA, & BW systems
- Financial GAAP reporting design and development
Additional Functions:
- Backup for critical accounting tasks/responsibilities within team
- Preparation of training materials for end user training of SAP FI, COPA, BW to Corporate Accounting and finance organization as needed
- Special data analysis and tracking for unique business events
- Develop and maintain SOP’s on best business practices
- Drive automation of manual Cognos reports and requests
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of Accounting/Financial analysis experience, preferably in food or consumer goods industry.
- Understanding of company financial systems and reporting analysis requirements, independent research, financial troubleshooting, and transaction mining capability
- Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and FASB principles
- Must understand the organizational implications of implementing a particular solution and have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability
- Must be able to communicate effectively with varying levels of management and team members, both written and verbal
- Highly motivated, service oriented, self-starter with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a structured and fast-paced environment
- A strong emphasis on MS Excel skills
What will set you apart:
- SAP experience preferred – FI/CO/COPA/PCA/MM/SD/Logistics – configuration, integration, dataflows, transaction execution, report writing, results analysis, master data structures, results analysis.
- SAP BW experience preferred – Design, configuration, datasource development, transfer rules, update rules, data extraction/uploads, security roles, query / report writing.
- Cognos Planning experience preferred – Design, modeling, implementation, maintenance, training, reporting.
