Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Patient Coordinator will serve to provide general assistance, information, referrals, and scheduling for individuals and families seeking Behavioral Health Services. The Behavioral Health Patient Coordinator represents to the community the quality-of-service delivery provided through Behavioral Health Services and thus is required to have interpersonal skills, patience, and a strong ability for problem-solving in crisis or conflict situations. This individual will implement a screening and triage process to assist families in determining the necessary services. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to interact with all levels of Serene Health's staff, and a wide range of external contacts.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a screening and triage process to assist potential clients in determining the necessary services.
- Answering, returning, scheduling client calls.
- Maintaining a working relationship with managerial, administrative, and clinical staff to assure efficiency in the day-to-day responsibilities.
- The ability to add, update, and edit scheduling services.
- Ability to complete all data entry for pre-admission including identifying information, the reason for referral, relevant history, and payor type information.
- Identify emergent or complex cases and seek clinical review, as needed, prior to finalizing the patient's appointment.
- Maintains confidentiality of all clinical and administrative information consistent with agency policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in front office work preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs and have excellent data entry skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
Working Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at an office desk on the computer.
- Lifting: Able to lift up to 15lbs.
