Role

The Manager of the Analyst Relations/Market Strategy team will support a range of analyst-related projects and programs while helping to manage the relationships with some of the top industry analysts. This is a great opportunity to work with the Salesforce Market Strategy team in a role with potential for growth. This position will accelerate and evolve the existing analyst relations program, helping the company to:

  • Cultivate strategic relationships with our growing community of analysts, market luminaries, and influencers
  • Provide Product Management with strategic consultation on products and services
  • Partner with the Sales Enablement organization, assisting in driving deals with analyst support
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Corporate Marketing to deliver content and programs to drive lead generation
  • Broaden visibility of the company, its strategy, and core products

The position requires a commitment to innovation in the technology industry, understanding of the enterprise software and cloud computing spaces, and established relationships with industry analysts. Clear, concise, and consistent communication skills and attention to detail are a must. Additionally, open communication, transparency and trust with other members of the Market Strategy team is an essential requirement for the role. The ability to multi-task and prioritize while maintaining a sense of humor is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key partners across the company to execute AR strategy
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with our growing community of global analysts, market luminaries, and influencers
  • Deliver end-to-end analyst engagement strategy for a regular cadence of inquiries, analyst days, events, briefings, analysts requests for information and other core program tactics
  • Serve as a trusted partner internally by providing first-level feedback and guidance to executives and actively synthesizing and sharing insights from analyst engagements, reports, and data with AR program stakeholders
  • Proactively lead the response to analyst evaluations and requests for information through coordination with internal team members and executives
  • Understanding of Agentforce: utilize AI tools and Salesforce and other AI technologies and broaden Agentforce visibility amongst the analyst community
  • Partner internally to build and deliver great content and assets, good judgment on quality of content and who would find it useful, and the ability to measure effectiveness of content
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment for company's best interest, strong situational analysis, and the ability to negotiate
  • Be a great team player - willing to jump in and help others, take on new responsibilities and projects
  • Experience working in the CRM technology market, additional experience in vertical industry technology markets a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10-20% of the time across North America

Required Skills

  • BA/BS degree from 4 year college/university
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Analyst Relations in the technology industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and project management skills and attention to detail
  • Self starter, with proven ability to work under tight deadlines with limited resources
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly prioritize projects and communicate priorities to stakeholders
  • High level of energy, enthusiastic team player, and dedication to excellence

  • The Team:
  • What does this team do? How long has it been in existence? What's the structure, team dynamic?
  • The Market Strategy team cultivates strategic relationships with leading analysts and influencers that elevate Salesforces visibility and advance its vision, product, and go-to-market strategy.
  • The Market Strategy team has existed for over 20+ years.
  • Members of the Market Strategy team are primarily organized around Salesforce product categories (Salesforce AI Platform, Data Cloud, MuleSoft, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Platform, Industries, etc.) but some team members are organized around geos (EMEA & JAPAC) and strategic engagement pillars (Events, Peer Review Platforms, Market Share, etc.). Irrespective of our sub-team, we all practice the theory and tactics of analyst relations and regularly collaborate around major moments in the companys calendar year. A few highlights on the team dynamic:
  • Attitude - Were a low-ego team that places high value on DWIT (e.g., do-what-it-takes attitude). No team member is too senior to build an analyst briefing doc or too junior to shadow and support on the most strategic of analyst engagements. We do what it takes to drive the best outcome for the team.
  • Communication style - We appreciate trust, transparency and direct communication with attention to right channel for right message. We prefer overcommunicating. We do our best to have clear agendas and calls to action (CTAs) in our whole team and interpersonal communications.
  • Collaboration style - We are team players who willingly take ownership of initiatives on behalf of the team to drive bigger outcomes. We use meetings to kickoff major initiatives and give visibility to critical updates on initiatives but value the quick Slack huddle or 1:1 to unblock or drive more targeted alignment and keep projects moving.

  • We expect team members who are not categorized as remote to be in their local office 10x per quarter in line with the in-office guidance outlined in the V2MOM
  • SF is a bonus, close to a hub is a plus but not must-haves
