About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Founding AI Research Engineer to build our LLM business intelligence evaluation frameworks, and stay at the forefront of AI research, design and execute experiments to evaluate autonomous agents, and develop innovative methodologies to enhance agent performance and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design business intelligence LLM evaluation framework from scratch.

• Improve natural language to SQL and NoSQL queries on top of data.

• Implement, and conduct rigorous evaluation experiments and optimize agent performance.

• Continuously evaluate, monitor, review, and synthesize cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence, autonomous agents, and machine learning.

• When necessary, prototype new techniques and models for building autonomous AI agents, focusing on improving accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

• Collaborate closely with product engineers to translate research advancements into practical applications and deployable solutions.

• Document and communicate research findings through internal presentations, reports, and potentially external publications or conferences.

• Contribute actively to defining research roadmaps, prioritizing experimental directions based on potential impact and feasibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/MSc/PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field

• 2+ years of experience conducting LLM evaluation, improving LLM response accuracy, and improving LLM intent understanding.

• Experience in building LLM evaluation for business intelligence use cases and for natural language to SQL/NoSQL.

• Proven track record of executing rigorous experiments and effectively analyzing data to derive actionable insights.

• Familiarity with state-of-the-art research in autonomous agents, reinforcement fine tuning, deep learning, or related areas.

• Thrive in a fast-paced, agile research environment, rapidly iterating based on experimental feedback and data-driven insights.

• Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, with experience rapidly prototyping experimental concepts.

• Ability to clearly articulate research findings and collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000 per year + Equity, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for additional benefits and incentives, including equity, health benefits, retirement plans, and others described below.
