Computer Technician

• Assemble computer and server components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Perform rack integration, cabling, and deployment activities at customer sites.
• Unbox, stage and package servers and related equipment for deployment or shipment.
• Scan component serial numbers into the manufacturing shop floor system for tracking purposes.
• Operate test equipment, scanners, testers and computer systems.
• Perform equipment maintenance tasks (e.g., burn in cables, test cables, basic repairs) as required.
• Diagnose, test and repair computer hardware, software and servers.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support as needed.
• Follow assembly instructions, production orders, and process documentation accurately.
• Travel as needed to customer sites to support service and deployment activities.

Requirements

• Experience in the electronics or computer industry.
• Familiarity with computer hardware, servers and basic networking concepts.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, assembly instructions and production orders.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools and light power tools.
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods.
• Ability to work at a computer and view a screen for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, squat, reach, lift, carry, push and pull equipment weighing up to 40lbs.

The hourly pay range offered for this position is between $20 and $25 an hour. This is subject to change depending on the candidate's experience and skill set.
