LHH is teaming up with a real estate services organization in Half Moon Bay, CA in search of an Escrow Assistant to support a newly opened branch and a busy escrow team handling purchase and refinance transactions.
This role supports end‑to‑end escrow activity and plays a key part in ensuring transactions move forward smoothly and accurately. The organization is expanding its footprint locally and offers a professional, collaborative environment with strong operational structure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior escrow experience looking for stability, consistency, and potential long‑term growth. The position is contract with potential to convert based on business needs and performance.
Who the Ideal Candidate Is:
The ideal candidate has prior escrow or transaction‑processing experience and understands escrow workflows from pre‑closing through post‑closing. They are professional, polished, and comfortable interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This person is detail‑oriented, reliable, and able to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced setting while maintaining high standards of accuracy and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pre‑closing and post‑closing escrow tasks
- Provide administrative and transactional support to the Escrow Officer
- Assist with document preparation, data input, balancing figures, disbursements, and money transfers
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, agents, lenders, and other transaction parties
- Review contracts, commitments, and required documentation prior to closing
- Prepare and distribute settlement statements ahead of closing
- Submit post‑closing packages to lenders for funding authorization
- Coordinate collection of required information for sales and refinances
- Assist with electronic recordings with county offices
- Support compliance, workflow accuracy, and internal process standards
- Escalate issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in an escrow or transaction‑processing role required
- Strong understanding of escrow processes and real estate transaction requirements
- Ability to work with numbers, calculations, and transaction‑related math
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience with escrow production software (e.g., ResWare, RamQuest, AtClose, iClosings) preferred
Job Type: Contract (on-going with potential to convert to permanent)
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Fully on‑site in Half Moon Bay, CA
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Pay Rate: $25–$30/hour, depending on esperience
