SUMMARY
Become a vital part of our summer team as a Pool Monitor and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all pool-goers! In this role, you'll oversee pool activities, enforce safety regulations, and provide friendly assistance to patrons. From monitoring swimmers to maintaining cleanliness and organization, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a positive atmosphere at the pool. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in customer service and lifeguarding while enjoying the summer sun. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures for the facility are followed
- Advises guests of improper activities or dangers and enforces facility regulations and policies
- Responds to emergencies and administer first-aid when necessary
- Ability to work independently
- Maintain focus at a high level for extended periods
- Evaluate conditions for safety and activate an emergency action plan if necessary
- Complete daily opening/closing procedure checklists
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable
- Report maintenance issues to management
- Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, co-workers, and management
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Must be at least 16 years of age and be able to obtain a work permit if under the age of 18
- Be able to work a minimum of 3 days a week and have one day of weekend availability
- Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hours
- Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts
- Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to interact with the public
- Reliable transportation
- Be able to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Basic Life Support certification
Preferred
- Have prior lifeguard experience
- StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification
- Be able to work weekends and holidays
