Systems Engineer I

IDR is seeking a Systems Engineer I to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Los Angeles, California. In this role, youll support and enhance enterprise infrastructure that enables teams across the organization to do their best work. Youll collaborate with IT and infrastructure partners to improve reliability, security, and operational excellence across core platforms and services.

Position Overview for the Systems Engineer I:

• Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, identity, virtualization, backup, and cloud services
• Assist with provisioning, configuration, and administration of Windows and/or Linux systems in an enterprise environment
• Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents and service issues, escalating and partnering with senior engineers and cross-functional teams as needed
• Contribute to automation and scripting efforts to improve repeatability, consistency, and operational efficiency
• Maintain clear technical documentation for systems, processes, configurations, and recovery procedures

Requirements for the Systems Engineer I:

• 2+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or IT operations in an enterprise environment
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration, including troubleshooting and basic performance/health checks
• Familiarity with core services such as Active Directory (or similar identity services), DNS, and DHCP
• Exposure to virtualization and cloud concepts (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V and/or AWS fundamentals) plus basic storage/backup/recovery concepts
• Ability to use scripting/automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Bash) and produce clear operational documentation
