Founding Frontend Engineer

At Parsed, we supercharge large language models with reinforcement learning, enabling them to adapt and improve continually in real-world use. Instead of static black boxes, our models evolve with feedback, aligning more closely with user needs and outperforming one-size-fits-all generalist models. We pair this with cutting-edge mechanistic interpretability to turn opaque systems into transparent ones so they can be trusted by humans, approved by regulators, and relied on for mission-critical workflows. What we want to do

We want to build a beautiful platform. A piece of software we are proud of inside and out. We are obsessed with the quality of products like Linear and want to achieve this in our platform.

When users interact with our platform, they should be greeted with a quality and polish that is reflective of the models it helps serve. We want to take the time to do this right. The first step in building a masterpiece frontend is to hire the best people, and people who care about doing great work.

Responsibilities

Lead the v2 platform build with fresh architecture and design. Starting from a clean slate, architect our next-generation TypeScript/Next.js platform with proper patterns, modern conventions, and a scalable foundation. You'll have the freedom to make the right technical choices while learning from what worked in v1.

Create our design system and visual identity. Build a comprehensive, extensible component library that defines Parsed's design language for years to come. This is your chance to establish the aesthetic and interaction principles that will differentiate us in the AI platform space.

Own design decisions with collaborative input. While our team contributes ideas and feedback, you'll be the design authority — making final calls on UX patterns, visual hierarchy, and interaction design until we bring on dedicated designers to work with you.

Elevate complex AI capabilities into intuitive interfaces. Partner with ML researchers to improve how we visualise model interpretability, reinforcement learning feedback loops and live data feeds making them both scientifically accurate and delightfully usable.

Scale frontend excellence as we grow. Initially working closely with the founding team, you'll establish frontend best practices and eventually help build and lead the frontend/design team as we expand.

Qualifications

TypeScript and Next.js expertise. You can lead the team in your understanding of Typescript, Next.js and best practices. You have strong opinions about architecture, state management, and performance optimisation.

Design vision with engineering excellence. You have both the creative vision to imagine a new product experience and the technical skills to build it. You can create something distinctive and beautiful while maintaining engineering rigour.

Ownership mentality with collaborative spirit. You're comfortable being the frontend authority while working closely with a technical team that cares about user experience. You can take feedback from non-designers and translate it into polished solutions.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Supabase (mainly relational databases)

• Experience leading design in early-stage startups before dedicated designers joined

• Track record of establishing design culture in engineering-heavy teams
