HR Generalist
Job Summary
A well-established organization is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Los Angeles, CA. This role is ideal for a human resources professional who enjoys variety, collaboration, and the opportunity to support employees and leaders across recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, compliance, and process improvement. The HR Generalist will play an important role in maintaining strong HR practices, supporting a positive employee experience, and helping ensure consistent application of policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities - Manage full-cycle recruitment, candidate communication, hiring coordination, and onboarding activities.- Support employee relations matters, including investigations, complaints, grievances, documentation, and follow-up.
- Maintain employee records, process personnel transactions, and ensure accurate HRIS data entry and reporting.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, workplace practices, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with compensation, classification, organizational structure reviews, and labor relations support.
- Contribute to HR projects, policy updates, training initiatives, process improvements, and compliance reporting. Compensation and Benefits - Salary range: $75,000 to $84,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.- 3+ years of progressive human resources experience, including recruitment and HRIS administration.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, employee relations, employment practices, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with HR systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism, sound judgment, and strict confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting a diverse workforce in an education, public sector, nonprofit, or mission-driven environment.
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and employment agreements and provide practical HR guidance.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust with employees, managers, and leadership.
- Experience supporting labor relations activities, classification reviews, or compensation-related processes.
