Senior Engineering Technician (Cybersecurity) - SCADA Network

Location: 100% On-Site | Los Angeles, CA. (Downtown)

6-month assignment (High potential to extend)

Pay Rate: up to $65/hr. DOE

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm, with every other Friday off.

On behalf of our client one of the largest water distributors in Southern California, we are seeking for a Senior Engineering Technician (Cybersecurity). The perfect candidate will serve as the technical lead for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Network, focusing on design, development, and daily support. This role requires expertise in Industrial Control System (ICS) LAN/WAN networking, SCADA network architecture, and security design.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and daily support of SCADA Network and Security infrastructures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in configuring and managing network switches, routers, and firewalls, including EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
• Collaborate closely with IT network, project management teams, and SCADA network/security consultants on infrastructure design, development, proof of concept, and upgrades.
• Evaluate products and vendors, administer cyber tools and systems, configure firewalls, and develop network security compliance documentation.
• Provide technical expertise for SCADA network and security projects, configure security architecture solutions, and generate network and security reports.
• Develop and maintain network/security documentation, and collaborate with consultants on design enhancements, implementation, and administration of SCADA network and security technologies.
• Conduct security audits, investigations, and vulnerability assessments, communicate findings to project teams, and recommend security controls based on industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
• Proficient knowledge of ICS technologies and SCADA Protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CIP).
• Strong understanding of Cellular, Microwave, Telco services, WAN, LAN, switching, routing, VPN, VLAN.
• Experience in security audits, administration of cyber tools, and configuring and administrating firewalls.
• Ability to develop and maintain manuals, test procedures, and specifications for network security compliance.
• Familiarity with IT Security policies, procedures, and implementation of security plans.
• Experience in testing security products and systems, event correlation, and risk mitigation.

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Security
• Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) - Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional Certification (GICSP)
• ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity
