Electrical Design Engineer - Healthcare

Duties and Responsibilities

Prior experience working on Healthcare/Hospitals building Duties:

• Pre-Design Engineering
  • Review existing as-built drawings.
  • Perform field investigations.
  • Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.
  • Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Perform feasibility studies.
  • Prepare schematic designs.

• Design Engineering
  • Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.
  • Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.
  • Design lighting selection and controls.
  • Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
  • Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies.
  • Experience with low voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) systems is a plus.

• Design Complexity
  • Performs routine engineering work applying standard techniques. Performs basic engineering calculations.
  • Prepares construction estimates and specifications for small-size projects.
  • Can independently create small reports.

• Construction Administration
  • Review submittals

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Field
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification is a plus
  • LEED Accreditation a plus
• Working Knowledge
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit
  • California Building Code
  • National Electrical Code
  • HCAI experience is a plus
  • Net Zero Energy/Carbon experience a plus
