Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Abstract Processing Unit (APU) is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable and flexible individual with a positive attitude and good work ethics. Under the direction of the Manager II, the incumbent is responsible for reviewing and analyzing applications, transactions and support documents submitted to APU by OPS units for deposit of check fees collected. Receipt and maintain records of monies received. Perform audit of all transactions, in compliance with DMV accounting regulations and procedures. Resolve any out of balance conditions for a cashier or the office. Prepare bank deposits and post to database. Prepares and transmits bank deposit receipts, deliver clearances to Special Processing Unit. Act as liaison between the unit and support units to assist with automation matters. Train cashiers. Create and maintain processor files for cashiers, workstations and authorizes daily employee access. Transmits accounting reports, retains office file copies and receipts, maintain security and integrity of automated data, files, and the entire audit control function. Purge the automated report que files daily. Act as liaison with Network Control (NCC)/CPD Help Desk and OPS PC Support in the Information Systems Division (ISD) to resolve automation issues.

Working Conditions

Works in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities. Works in an office setting, in a cubicle with artificial lighting under various lightning conditions with exposure to computer/office equipment with various levels of noise. Use of a personal computer, fax, photocopier, printers, and 10-key. May be required to work mandatory overtime. Will be sitting for prolonged periods.
