Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$82.927 - $107.003 - $131.079

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicants years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do
Leads a team of Information Technology professionals, consulting with and assisting Sharp management in efforts to improve operational workflow and the consumer experience through automated web and mobile based applications. Advances use of emerging technologies. Develops and implements an iterative technology roadmap with a 3-5 year future state. Ensures development efforts are completed using agile approaches and adhere to industry best standards. Leads the effort to effectively translate clients' functional needs into technical requirements. Develops appropriate applications to optimally serve client needs, delivering robust highly reliable products. Communicate information systems principles to the client community. Serves as a key member of Information Systems support services providing focus on emerging clinical and business web/mobile based information issues within Sharp.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Hands on experience with agile processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology.
  • 15 Or More Years in IT and business/industry.
  • 7 Years increasingly responsible healthcare management and/or healthcare information technology management experience.
  • 5 Years in a complex, multi-entity health care system that included a broad scope of technical and/or management experience with extensive interaction at all levels of management and staff.
  • Experience managing cross functional projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
Essential Functions
  • Leads a highly effective software development organization comprised of multi-disciplined teams. Provides development team with direction to successfully and consistently deliver high-quality working software products on time, within budget and to specification. Ensures software development and delivery processes follow industry best practices. Envisions and prioritizes work efforts within existing software architecture and products to support future software delivery improvements.
    Directs the development and delivery of the three to five year technology roadmap. Leads multidisciplinary efforts to define the strategy and vision of mobile and web based applications and technology solutions. Leads the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
    Promotes technology knowledge and advancement through researching and assessing industry trends in software development and web applications. Establishes subject matter expertise and delivers recommendations and guidance to customers and team related to industry changes, trends, advancements, and evolution.
    Promotes and drives innovation in technologies, processes and tools for cutting-edge software development. Develops strong partnerships within the organizations marketing teams and leadership to drive digital strategy. Promotes advancement and innovation of technology offering solutions that consistently and continuously provide a best in class software experiences for consumers, patients and Sharp HealthCare employees.
    Directs multi-disciplinary teams in needs analysis, system selection or development, and installation and ongoing operations of Web Development applications in all Sharp facilities and departments. Leads efforts to determine appropriate technology acquisition approach of build vs. buy.
    Establishes partnerships and relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports. Collaborates with and communicates project status to internal and external teams. Communicates effectively with clients to align priorities adjusting as needed to accomplish all objectives in an effective and timely manner.
  • Strategy Development and Execution
    Provide vision and technical leadership in designing and implementing large scale, complex products and technology that require high performance, scalability, uptime and traceability. Devise strategies for product delivery that focus on service excellence, reducing service outages or disruptions and are delivered faster.
    Drive and guide definition of 3-5 year technical roadmap. Synthesizes diverse business needs into concise and achievable design inputs, and lead multifaceted technical implementations on plan.
    Collaborate with leadership peers in establishing a digital strategy for Sharp HealthCare. Brings technology expertise, industry trend awareness and a forward thinking, creative approach to establishing the strategy and implementation priorities.
    Provide department oversight of full development lifecycle, ensuring that design and development is in compliance with architectural and development standards.
    Lead teams in design and development activities on concurrent complex projects with multi-source, internal, on and offshore teams. Coordinates product requirements and road maps across Scrum teams. Excels at pinpointing and resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses.
    Evaluate and review design frameworks and methodologies and approve designs to achieve functional requirements and conformance to established architecture that maintain data security and integrity. Ensure enhancements within an existing application are designed to align with future roadmap improvements to the architecture.
    Take a proactive approach to anticipating IT challenges in the future.
    Promote the adoption of advanced information technologies through participation in and communication with various employee and management groups.
  • Standards and Deployments
    Directs planning and coordination of all activities related to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the full range of web applications and technology. Facilitates day-to-day team operations in a Scrum/Agile environment.
    Develops, maintains and ensures execution of project and plans aligned to department's objectives. Implements plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved. Forecasts hardware and personnel resources required to meet project goals. Assigns authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan.
    Reviews project status with cross-functional teams and management, identify deviations to project plans and take corrective actions as required.
    Leads the development and improvement of product development and quality processes.
    Leads efforts with consulting partners including project definition, Request For Quote/Proposal creation, SOW creation, and acceptance criteria.
    Develops outsourced and staff augmentation/co-development models and ensuring consistent knowledge and skill sets between internal and multiple external development partners. Manages integration standards for third party software solutions.
    Provides guidance to Managers, Architects and Senior Development staff in design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring the software development team.
    Ensure best practice change management and version control processes are in place to manage software releases, application patching and changes to production configurations.
    Lead team in implementation and ongoing improvements of DevOps practices and processes that foster automation and collaboration with a goal to build, test and release software and products faster and reliably.
    Identifies under-performing projects, under-utilized or over-performing resources and determines solutions.
  • Employee Management
    Promotes a team culture of open communication.
    Recognizes contributions of individuals to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.
    Engages in employee coaching and counseling as appropriate.
    Creates a succession plan for the management team and encourages them to do the same for key individuals.
    Coaches and mentors software development team. Assists team in achieving higher levels of discipline, quality and software development maturity.
    Enforces and complies with all policies and procedures of Sharp Healthcare as it relates to employee conduct. Abides by ethical standards set in the Sharp HealthCare Commitment to Principles Handbook.
  • Leadership and Communication
    Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Sharp Experience. Shares quarterly leadership session learnings with team and promotes adoption within the team. Promotes and maintains a high level of teamwork throughout IS.
    Lead by example to drive a culture of quality and personal accountability through development and delivery teams. Mentors development managers to implement best practices to motivate and organize their teams.
    Exercise leadership in promoting IT services, perspectives and strategies within Sharp, through participation in meetings of diverse Operating Unit and System Management Groups, technical/client/topical groups.
