Job Description and Duties

This Position is located at Coalinga State Hospital.

Registered Nurse – (Safety) (RN) employees are responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care, treatment, and rehabilitation to patients ; providing direction to other personnel who assist them in providing such care; assisting physicians as directed; providing general psychiatric nursing care to patients and participate in the milieu treatment structure of patients . Provide intervention within RN scope and standards of practice and per facility policies & procedures.

Working Conditions

The employee is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital.

All state civil service employees are currently subject to a mandatory Personal Leave Program (PLP). The PLP program reduces the monthly gross salary but provides PLP leave credits in lieu of pay. The amount of salary reduction depends on the classification and associated union Bargaining Unit (BU). Your BU for this position that’s been offered and accepted is BU19 – America Federation of State, County, and Municipal Engineers (AFSCME). The expected salary reduction will be 3% of the salary identified above, and you will accrue approximately 5 hours of PLP each month. You will be subject to the PLP salary reduction and leave accruals through June 30, 2027.

• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a(n) Registered Nurse License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
