Description:

The Senior Frontend Developer will play a key role in designing and building high-performance user interfaces across multiple product surfaces, including customer portals, internal tools, and mission control systems. This is a hands-on senior role that spans multiple systems rather than a single product, offering opportunities to work on diverse and high-impact engineering challenges within the aerospace domain.

The role involves close collaboration with design teams to translate Figma prototypes into scalable, production-ready applications using modern frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Vite. The position also includes contributing to frontend architecture, shared component libraries, and engineering standards that ensure reliability, usability, and performance in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing frontend applications across mission control, internal tools, and customer-facing platforms
• Translating Figma designs into responsive, maintainable production code
• Collaborating with design and engineering teams to improve workflows and system consistency
• Building and maintaining shared component libraries and design systems
• Establishing frontend engineering best practices for performance, accessibility, and maintainability
• Integrating with REST APIs, WebSockets, and gRPC services
• Working with stakeholders including satellite operators, engineers, and researchers
• Improving user experience through iterative design and technical refinement
• Mentoring junior engineers and conducting code and design reviews
• Supporting production systems and participating in on-call rotations when required

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Strong expertise in modern frontend development and production systems
• Experience with authentication, authorization, and secure API integration
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, production-critical environments
• Strong architectural understanding of scalable frontend systems
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and Vite
• Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, and gRPC
• Familiarity with design systems and shared component libraries
• Experience working closely with UX/Product Design teams
• Experience with data visualization tools such as three.js, Konva, or canvas
• Exposure to WebAssembly or advanced frontend rendering techniques
• Background in aerospace, robotics, defense, or complex systems environments
