SUPERVISOR I

Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the section Commander, the Supervisor I will provide direct supervision to four Analysts. The Supervisor I is responsible for providing assistance to staff; reviewing and monitoring staff work while providing preliminary approval of completed assignments; communicating with stakeholders; and presenting research findings to upper management for the Research and Planning Section. The Supervisor I will also oversee pilot projects to further research projects to determine effectiveness for departmental use.

Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with peers, subordinates, all levels of management, and the public; ability to work in a team environment; above-average written and verbal communication skills, excellent attendance, punctuality, and dependability; working knowledge of computers and associated departmental software; possess a high degree of initiative and willingness to cross-train in all clerical functions.
