Accounting Clerk
The Accounting Clerk oversees and aids in certain accounting and financial aspects within AGH, using skills in project management, organization and communications to ensure efficiency of the department. The Accounting clerk displays a positive attitude, and an eagerness to improve and learn. In combination with their department staff, this position will assist in providing the company with periodic financial reports, and upkeep a well-maintained system of accounting records.. This position will also enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported finances in accordance with; Generally Accepted Accounting Practices, Federal Acquisition Regulation, and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (GAAP, FAR, DFAR).
The Accounting clerk is responsible for providing accounting support to the Chief Financial Officer. The Accounting clerk will consult with the Accounting Supervisor and Chief Financial Officer to ensure files are complete and maintained as needed, accounts payable and receivable are current, monthly worksheets are created and complete, and will assist with personnel accounting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of payroll processing for all staff.
- Enter all BH services in the appropriate county system for payment.
- Oversee the processing of Resource Family monthly paperwork.
- Oversee to ensure accurate Reconciling of monthly credit card statements while verifying that all receipts correspond to the account.
- Process and record incoming monthly checks and maintain accurate tracking of all receivables.
- Prepare invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with established procedures and timely disbursement.
- Provide supervision, training and oversight to subordinate staff.
- Maintain strong verbal and communication skills for the purpose of conveying information effectively.
- Maintain a welcoming environment for families and other community partners.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and PII privacy and security requirements.
- As with all of our positions, we work as a team and various duties may be assigned at any time including cleaning, organizing, child care, attending to the needs of the child in your care or in the office, attendance at meetings, transportation, paperwork, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The starting salary range for this position is: $19-20/Hour
Requirements
Qualifications. A successful candidate must have the following skills and experience
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- AA degree or Technical degree preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in accounts payable/receivable and/or payroll processes preferred.
- QuickBooks online experience preferred.
- Non profit organizational work preferred.
- Maintain a welcoming environment for families and other community partners.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy practices.
- Must be able to effectively utilize computers and basic computer software.
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record. Must be at least 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
- A Greater Hope includes all employees in the DMV pull notification process, notifying AGH of infractions throughout the process.
- Must pass a drug screen, physical exam, and Tuberculosis skin test.
- Be able to obtain Criminal and Child Abuse Clearance from the State of California/Department of Justice.
- A Greater Hope participates in E-Verify and will verify your Social Security Number.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong conflict resolution, communication and organizational skills; with great attention to detail.
