Associate Attorney
Associate Attorney – Commercial Litigation & Arbitration (Remote – Los Angeles Area)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote; local candidates preferred)
Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 base (commensurate with experience)

About the Role
A boutique law firm is seeking a sharp and self-motivated Associate Attorney with experience in commercial or complex litigation. This remote-position is best suited for candidates based in the Los Angeles area who are highly organized, responsive, and have a solid command of litigation fundamentals.
The role will involve significant responsibility from day one, with a focus on managing arbitration matters—especially in disputes involving health plans and managed care. While experience in healthcare law is not required, a willingness to learn and apply legal principles in this space is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Handle all phases of commercial litigation and arbitration, from intake to resolution
Draft motions, pleadings, and legal briefs with clarity and strategic insight
Participate in arbitration preparation and serve as second-chair in hearings
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on procedural and substantive issues
Manage discovery, including drafting requests and reviewing production
Communicate effectively with clients, arbitrators, and opposing counsel
Maintain excellent documentation, track deadlines, and meet billable targets (1,600–1,700 hours/year)
What We’re Looking For
Active member of the California Bar in good standing
Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial or complex matters
Demonstrated experience filing and arguing motions in state and/or federal court
Strong legal writing and analytical skills
Ability to manage a caseload of 5–10 matters with minimal supervision
Self-starter with common sense, good judgment, and a drive to grow professionally
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while maintaining high responsiveness and team communication
Bonus Points For:
Experience or interest in arbitration
Familiarity with healthcare or managed care disputes (not required, but helpful)
