Supervising Senior Accountant (Los Angeles)

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This role is ideal for a candidate with 3–5 years of experience, preferably coming out of public accounting, with exposure to financial services and/or publicly traded companies. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, general ledger management, and supporting the overall accounting function in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Assist with external reporting requirements, including SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) where applicable
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze financial results and variances
• Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and quarterly reviews
• Contribute to process improvements and internal control enhancements

Financial Reporting & Corporate Accounting Focus:

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare supporting schedules and disclosures for financial statements
• Monitor and analyze key balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–5 years of relevant experience; public accounting experience a must
• Experience in financial services and/or publicly traded company environment is a plus
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• CPA or CPA-eligible is highly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
