Plant Health Care Technician

Position Summary

As a Plant Health Care Technician, you will play a key role in diagnosing plant health issues, applying treatments, and supporting the long-term health of trees and landscapes. You will work hands-on in the field while interacting professionally with clients and contributing to environmentally responsible care practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify trees, shrubs, pests, and diseases to determine appropriate treatment plans
• Apply eco-friendly treatments including fertilization, soil amendments, and pest/disease control
• Perform deep root injections, soil compaction alleviation, and watering as needed
• Operate and maintain PHC equipment such as air spades and root pruners
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain accurate records of pesticide applications, work logs, and client interactions
• Communicate professionally with clients and educate them on plant and tree health
• Identify opportunities for additional services and assist with scheduling follow-up treatments

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in plant health care, tree care, landscaping, or a related field preferred
• Strong interest in tree and plant health; willingness to learn and grow
• Knowledge of tree and shrub identification (or ability to learn)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Detail-oriented with strong adherence to safety protocols
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing demanding tasks
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
